Death Cab For Cutie "Punching Flowers"

Created choreography inspired by Pina Bausch for the music video for Death Cab for Cutie "Punching Flowers." In my process, I developed character storylines for each dancer as well as what defines their relationship with their partner. The choreography was built out through structured improvisation that was interwoven with fixed choreographic sequences. To create complexity, I offset the timing of choreography for each pair in certain sections. The goal was to create a feeling of love, passion, and struggle.
